The forecast looked promising for today but the wind was slow arriving and offshore to start with, so was not sure if I would get out or not, there was talk of people going to Levington and Bradfield but for me it was always going to be The Manor especially as its only a couple of miles from my house! Mag walked around to pick up Maeva while I stayed at home as our boiler was being serviced. Maeva arrived around 10.30 nneeding asleep and was a bit grumpy so I took her for a walk down to the pier and back through the Spa gardens to give Mag a chance to have her breakfast and Maeva had a nap which bucked her up and we had a nice hour all together on the sofa playing with the dolls. Then the wind nnow from the SW was picking up to 15 knnots so I decided to go down to Squiz Lane to check the conditions leaving around one which was not ideal being high water. I was surprised to get prime parking spot and was pleased there were no sea anglers about:) I set up my gear on the grass near the van and took a chance with my 6.5 which proved perfect for the two and a half hour session! It would have definitely been a 5 star session today if it wasn’t for the fact it was wind with tide which meant for the best part a beat both ways to stay in the same position but I had some lovely long runs of two and a half miles out to sea all by myself but I have my vhf radio and I am being watched from the Coastwatch Martello tower and was in sunshine for the best part of the session too and had it all to myself:) The sea was quite lumpy but with my back spacer set at plus 1 I am flying over the lumps much better now:) I did hit at least a couple of fish but managed to stay onboard for a change and dropped a couple of gybes but it was a bit lumpy so I am not bothered! All in all a top session in the sunshine and maybe some more foiling tomorrow but the wind is offshore so nnot sure of the venue yet?
